September 20 at the Mahatma Ghandi Center in Saint Louis, MO I had the honor of becoming a featured artists for their opening night. This was one of the greatest honors. I performed with an amazing tabla player, Pratha, as we performed Classical North Indian Raga music in the style of my gharana and guruji Imrat Khan. In addition to rags Yamin Kalian and Jhin Jhodi we did some shorter hybrid pieces I composed. Seema Kasthuri, vocalist, came out to do an encore with to a standing ovation.

Later that weekend I performed in concert with Saul David Rey, one of the world’s leading Kirtan artist. He was responsible along with Krishna Das for bring Kirtan to public awareness in the U.S. His concerts are always inspirational and devotional in nature. He is also an amazing ly insightful yoga teacher. I was lucky enough to accompany his final class on Sunday morning.
